DATA DELIVERY
The Daily Mail had a strong scoop on Tuesday morning (26 Aug) - a million people's bank details on a computer sold on eBay.

News of an alleged plot to kill Barack Obama emerged as the Democratic Convention began in Denver. You got the most comprehensive coverage from IRN.

ALL THAT GLITTERS IS IRN GOLD
He's the 70s glam rocker who fell from grace, and this week a whole new chapter in the bizarre life of Gary Glitter's been penned. After two years and nine months behind bars, the convicted paedophile was released from jail in Vietnam on Monday. On Tuesday, he was booked onto a flight back to Britain, from Thailand. Here's where the story should have ended. But it's where it began.

MUCHO MADONNA
Madonna's about to celebrate her 50th birthday this weekend and IRN's Showbiz Desk has been preparing for this music news landmark. Whenever a member of the team's been out at a premiere or doing celebrity one-to-ones,they've been harvesting views about the icon. Three days ahead of Madonna's big day IRN sent out twenty five cuts, giving stations plenty of time to prepare coverage. Big name IRN audio included Madonna herself (saying being 50's no big deal) and her friend Gwyneth Paltrow. Stations also received mixed and dry cuts of Sarah Jessica Parker, George Clooney and Helen Mirren amongst many others. MOBILE BLITZ
The Ofcom report on the explosion of mobile phone usage and how they're are now more important to many people than their TVs had radio talkability written all over it. IRN seized on the story and produced a range of audio throughout the crucial breakfast period.

TOP MARKS FOR SAKHR
IRN reporter Sakhr al-Makhadhi gets an A* for his work on A Level results day. Sakhr went to a central London college where students ripped open their envelopes for him. Our intrepid hack almost lost his eardrums when one teenager went completely over the top with her two 'A' grades. Delivering the most excited shriek has become an annual media challenge. Thanks to Sakhr, IRN Network stations were able to broadcast top reaction.
BEIJING REPORTER ARREST
The arrest of British reporter John Ray on Wednesday morning as he covered a pro-Tibet deminstration in Beijing saw IRN spring into action. We got the man himself in quality within two hours of him being roughed up, bundled into a van and then released. Subsequent IRN audio included wildtrack of Ray arguing with Chinese police from the van window.
A strange response, though, from Sky News Radio. Despite covering the previous Tibet protest at the beginning of the Games, not a word on this latest demonstration or the reporter arrest. Then today, out of the blue, Sky News Radio ran reaction to the reporter's arrest from the IOC... without having reported it in the first place!

GOODBYE LAURA
IRN staffer Laura Turner is leaving IRN after two-and-a-half years. She's joining ITN On's new Teachers' TV service. Colleagues turned out in force for Friday night's leaving do to give Laura the traditional send off. No reports yet on her condition on Saturday morning. Thanks to information fed by IRN's man in Beijing, Alan Lewis, we were well ahead on the reports 2 British pro-Tibet protestors had been arrested in China. IRN copy at 4:44 PA Snap at 4:50.
