The arrest of British reporter John Ray on Wednesday morning as he covered a pro-Tibet deminstration in Beijing saw IRN spring into action. We got the man himself in quality within two hours of him being roughed up, bundled into a van and then released. Subsequent IRN audio included wildtrack of Ray arguing with Chinese police from the van window.
A strange response, though, from Sky News Radio. Despite covering the previous Tibet protest at the beginning of the Games, not a word on this latest demonstration or the reporter arrest. Then today, out of the blue, Sky News Radio ran reaction to the reporter's arrest from the IOC... without having reported it in the first place!
